SLOVENIA, October 27 - The Ordinance on the method of meeting the recovered/vaccinated/tested rule to contain the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is amended by introducing regular screening tests at all healthcare and social care providers, at the expense of the state budget. Testing with a rapid antigen test for self-testing is introduced for all primary and secondary school pupils. Self-testing is also required for participation in sports programmes, recreational activities and extracurricular activities regardless of the age of the pupil. The frequency of self-testing for primary and secondary school pupils and students is increased to twice a week, with the right to use ten self-tests. The frequency of screening with the rapid antigen self-test or rapid antigen tests every 48 hours is increased for the performance of work, so that a person must have a valid rapid antigen self-test or rapid antigen test not older than 48 hours at the start of the performance of work. In the case of evenly scheduled working hours or a Monday to Friday single-shift working day, this means that a person must be tested every Monday, Wednesday and Friday before starting work, i.e. every 48 hours between working days, but not on Sundays. However, in the case of irregular working hours, temporary reassignment of working hours, shift work, work ordered overtime, extra work or due to possible absence, a person is deemed to have met the recovered/vaccinated/tested rule at the start of work if he or she starts work within the 48-hour limit, as evidenced by proof of screening with a rapid antigen self-test or rapid antigen test that is not older than 48 hours.

It is stipulated that the use of a protective mask is mandatory despite the fulfilment of the recovered/vaccinated rule:  – in healthcare, education and social care activities; and  – in activities and in the provision of all services where interpersonal contact occurs. The Ordinance enters into force on 1 November 2021 in order to allow time for the procurement of additional self-testing tests and the organisation of additional testing with antigen rapid tests by healthcare providers.
